The Metropolitan City of Venice owns the Island of San Servolo in Venice and Villa Widmann Rezzonico Foscari in Mira (VE), as well as the real estate and cultural assets present there, of historic, artistic, and landscape interest. In order to protect these assets and allow physical and economic access to them through continued use, the Metropolitan City of Venice has created Società San Servolo – Servizi Metropolitani di Venezia srl which is 100% owned by the Metropolitan City of Venice. The company performs services of general interest promoting the development and social cohesiveness of the metropolitan area through tasks assigned by the Metropolitan City of Venice which has control over the company.

With its lovely courtyards and outdoor spaces, the monumental complex offers spectacular natural and architectural staging for cocktails and receptions, corporate and promotional events, and gala dinners, especially during the spring and summer months. The splendid Basaglia terrace offers a breathtaking view of Saint Mark's Basin, providing a one-of-a-kind backdrop for any event. The roomy Grecale Hall boasts large windows with views of the lagoon and the large lawn and can receive up to 400 people. For smaller gatherings, the Basaglia Hall looks onto the 17th-century church on one side and Saint Mark's Basin on the other and is an ideal locale for coffee breaks, working lunches, and informal meetings.

The island of San Servolo offers accommodation all year round for people visiting Venice for congresses, conventions, training, and refresher courses. The Centro Soggiorno e Studi is available to students, teachers, scholars, professors and researchers, writers and artists, and anyone wanting to learn more about our region and its historic-artistic, environmental and natural characteristics. The structure can receive over 300 people and has 173 rooms in five buildings in one of Venice’s prettiest parks, with centuries-old plants and a variety of tree species. Rooms are single and twin (two single beds), with three or four beds, and suites. The rooms are bright and functional, overlooking the lagoon on one side and the large garden on the other. All rooms have a bathroom, telephone and television, air conditioning, and free WiFi.
