Mulino Veneziano Weddings & Stories
Crete is synonymous with love and romance, a place where deep-rooted local culture and legendary hospitality create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. It is no surprise that so many couples choose this island to seal their love. It’s an idyllic destination for destination weddings, with its unparalleled natural beauty and perfect climate, offering ceremonies from April to October.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Voukolies, in the Municipality of Platanias – Chania, right next to the soft sound and cool breeze of the Tavronitis river, lies an olive grove with a truly Cretan identity. Among its centuries-old olive trees stands Mulino Veneziano, designed for rustic yet refined celebrations. A venue that is understated but exceptionally sophisticated, created to host unforgettable moments in a timeless setting.
Mulino Veneziano, or “The Venetian Mill,” takes its name from the historic watermill located within a traditional stone building that stands proudly among the olive trees. A “small museum,” where visitors can learn how one of life’s most essential goods – bread – was once made. The stream that crosses the olive grove powers the mill, turning its ancient stones as they grind wheat into fine flour.
The historical significance of this venue blends seamlessly with elegance and authenticity, bringing together the serenity and refined luxury of Cretan nature.
An olive grove retreat for destination weddings and private events, where Cretan heritage meets timeless elegance!
