Home to the family of Count & Countess de Vanssay for more than 620 years, a wedding at Château de la Barre is a unique opportunity to experience the gracious way of life of the French aristocracy.
Located within a 100 acre private park, in the heart of a bucolic valley, 2 hours West of Paris and at the entrance to the Loire Valley, Château de la Barre is surrounded by colourful and fragrant gardens, XVIth century fortification walls and even offers its' own family chapel, with a larger church at the end of the park.
This historic property is the ideal venue for either a small wedding up to 30 guests in the family chapel with dinner in the XVIIIth century imposing dining hall and a concert and champagne in the grand drawing room, or else for a larger wedding with a crystal ceiling marquee set up in the garden, with a view onto the chateau and its' fortifications.
The château offers 12 elegant en suite rooms and suites, accommodating up to 24 guests onsite. There is a small hotel in the neighboring village.
Countess de Vanssay can act as your wedding planner or recommend a top professional she works with regularly. In any case, you benefit from a large selection of photographers, DJs, florists, caterers etc.
At Château de la Barre, elegance, heritage, refinement and exclusivity reign supreme.
