Consider your dream venue
There are a lot of things to consider when making up your guest list, one of which is your dream wedding venue
. Even if you haven’t secured a space yet, you probably have an idea of what you’re looking for. Maybe it’s a grand ballroom? Perhaps it’s your cozy neighbourhood pub? Naturally, different venues have different capacities and you’ll want to put that into consideration before you start inviting everyone from your coworkers to your old flatmates from uni.
Think about budget
Remember, even if your venue can fit 500 people, you don’t have to invite that many people. In fact, if you’re trying to scrimp and save, you probably shouldn’t! You’ll have to budget for enough food and drink to go around, and providing sustenance for hundreds of people can rack up a pretty big tab.
Weddings are all about joining two families together, so you’ll probably want at least a few members of your clan in attendance. Obviously, your immediate families should be at the top of the list, but when it comes to your extended families, things can get a little murky. If you’re guest list is in the hundreds, you can probably safely add all your cousins, aunts and uncles to the list.
