Collodi, as we know, is an enchanted place. A small medieval
village in the heart of Tuscany that has kept its authenticity and charm. Here
Carlo Lorenzini, author of Pinocchio, spent his childhood and took inspiration
for the creation of the adventures of the most famous puppet of all time. However,
not everyone knows what the favorite place of the little Carlo was Villa
Garzoni, where his mother worked as a waitress. On the other hand, come to
think of it, what other place could stimulate Carlo Collodi's vivid imagination
Villa Garzoni, built around the mid-1600s, is a place full
of charm, full of mystery, filled with a unique attraction that makes it one of
the most beautiful villas in Italy. Its garden is majestic and lush and has the
typical Baroque spectacle, made of statues, labyrinths and imposing staircases.
The Villa Garzoni Restaurant fits perfectly into this
exclusive setting, offering meat, game and fresh fish dishes that represent the
right combination between the flavors of the Tuscan tradition and the
innovation of contemporary cuisine, within a suggestive location.
The menu created by the chef Iacopo Vannini is simple and
refined, original, the result of a careful care in the choice of raw materials
and in the presentation. Equally refined is the wine list which boasts a wide
selection both of Italian and French origin and also the possibility of being
able to buy bottles directly from the cellar.
The environment spontaneously reflects the characteristics
of the kitchen: elegance and accuracy in a relaxed atmosphere. Recently
renovated, the space can accommodate up to eighty covers distributed in two
rooms, a larger one with ceiling beams, the other more intimate and reserved -
the Saletta Serra - with a wonderful view over the garden of the Villa.
On the ground floor there is a bar-cafeteria and some
outdoor tables, where you can enjoy breakfast but also quick lunches: a
well-stocked assortment of salads, focaccias, wraps, first courses, etc., all
strictly express.A small stand gives the possibility to buy some typical local
products or to choose a good book and read it with tranquility in the Garden.
Not just a restaurant, therefore, but a place capable of
offering proposals for all the different moments of the day and for the most
varied occasions, in an enchanting and sophisticated setting.
